WHAT IS SURF SELECT?

The Surf Select program is a national identification pathway for players aged U9-U17 who have the talent, drive and ambition to compete against the “Best of the Best” across Surf Nation.

WHAT IS SURF SELECT REGIONAL?

The mission remains our core, creating experiences and opportunities for players within the Surf Nation community. The Regional program allows collaboration and control of the local calendar with the aim to provide an additional step in the evaluation process.

Through Regional program it will increase talent identification to ensure the “best of the best” attend the Surf National team camp to compete for a roster spot to represent Surf Select National Teams (Blue & White) who will compete in some of the top domestic and international events across world football.

Through the Surf Select Regional program the National pathway will see the best players selected based on their performance, current stage of development and character within a team environment.

THE SURF SELECT PROCESS

Step 1 – Player recommendation from Our MHK Surf Club DOC by September of each season.

Step 2 – Player attends Surf Select Regional ID events- September-December. We have seven regional id events taking place in the Fall.

Step 3 – Player gets identified and selected from Regional ID events to attend Surf Select National Camp in February.

Step 4 – Player gets selected to be a player on Surf Select team to compete domestically or internationally in the summer.

SURF SELECT NATIONAL

THROUGH THE SURF SELECT REGIONAL PROGRAM, THE NATIONAL PATHWAY WILL SEE THE BEST PLAYERS SELECTED BASED ON THEIR PERFORMANCE, CURRENT STAGE OF DEVELOPMENT, AND CHARACTER WITHIN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT.

NATIONAL TEAM CAMP:
U9-U13

PLAYERS ARE SELECTED BASED ON THEIR PERFORMANCE IN THE REGIONAL PROGRAM AND WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL CAMP TO EARN A SPOT ON EITHER THE SURF SELECT NATIONAL BLUE & WHITE TEAMS.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
U14 ONLY

TOURNAMENT-BASED EVENT WELCOMING ALL U14 TEAMS ACROSS SURF NATION, PLAYERS WILL BE SELECTED BASED ON THEIR PERFORMANCE WITHIN THE EVENT.

REGIONAL TEAMS WILL COMPETE IN A NATIONAL SHOWCASES:
U15-U17

EACH REGION WILL BUILD OUT THEIR TEAMS TO COMPETE IN A NATIONAL SHOWCASE EVENT SOMEWHERE IN THE USA. THE REGIONAL TEAM COACHES WILL SCOUT AND PICK PLAYERS TO RECOMMEND TO THE SURF SELECT NATIONAL BLUE AND WHITE TEAM ROSTERS.
